Best Eco House Roof Award

Roofkrete Waterproofing has won the 2009 AWARD from THE DAILY TELEGRAPH and HOMEBUILDING & RENOVATING MAGAZINE for the BEST ECO ROOF. This innovative eco-friendly home was built by Philip and Margaret Nierop. The design included several innovative solutions including a remarkable glass down pipe, and a Roofkrete membrane flat roof with a solar panel on top of the Roofkrete. The house boldly combines natural materials and manmade materials creating a striking focal point in the interior via exposed glulam posts and beams. The construction was a timber frame with a combined roof of zinc at the perimeter and Roofkrete Waterproofing in the centre of the building with a Solar Panel resting on the Roofkrete . The designers/owners Philip and Margaret Nierop specified Roofkrete because it did not decay like bitumen/asphalt or single ply roofing, and the Roofkrete is sustainable, recyclable, fire-proof, and will Last the life-time of the building!
