Green Guide to Specs

The BRE Green Guide to Specification lists today many roofing materials systems as having a rating of A, A+ , C, D or E. Surprisingly the highest rating is given to systems using Single Ply PVC , Single Ply TPO , Bitumen membranes and EPDM membranes - all achieve the highest A+ rating.

The Industry/BRE does not today pay the correct attention to the embodied energy of individual components in the roofing build up—but as we approach “ zero carbon type targets “ or really want to use affordable alternatives , then the individual embodied energy of each roofing component---deck , vapour barrier , insulation , and waterproofing will become of paramount importance

RoofKrete / Krete will in the next few years make all petrochemical waterproofing roofing membranes obsolete.

If an architect/specifier wants to use the "BRE Green Guide to Specs" to calculate an A - A+ rating — by using RoofKrete/ Krete products they will save a massive extra 100,000 kwh/m3. Specifiers have the reassurance that if they are considering using a "high embodied energy roofing membrane" in a conventional flat roof, upside down roof , warm roof , cold roof or green roof, then no matter what rating they achieve a or A+ then by switching to RoofKrete/Krete they can save a massive improvement in CO2 reduction.
