RoofKrete Liquid Coating Alocit System

ROOF & STEEL SPIRAL STAIRCASE REFURBISHMENT
ROOFKRETE ALOCIT SYSTEMS
In the beautiful northern UK area of Cumbria, the structural steel and landings of this spiral staircase and roof area of a Victorian valve tower were deteriorating badly. RoofKrete Alocit coatings were chosen because the steel is at dewpoint throughout the year and in urgent need of protection and the old mastic asphalt roof was leaking. Although all the surfaces were wet, the RoofKrete Alocit Coating had excellent adhesion everywhere.
RoofKrete Alocit’s high tolerance for surface water and contamination such as flash rusting, residual salts and oil were key to the success of this project. The system used was a RoofKrete Alocit 28.14 primer stripecoat followed by a full brush coat of 28.14 Roofkrete Alocit. The surface was prepared by closed-circuit dustless vacuum blasting, minimising the risk of collateral damage to the structure and maximising coating adhesion.

ROOFKRETE LIQUID ALOCIT COATING

ALOCI T & ENVIROPEEL
RoofKrete Alocit is the ideal liquid coating for the renovation of old Bitumen, Mastic Asphalt and Glass Fibre Roofs. The coating is light weight and after application will increase the life expectancy of the old roof for a period of between 10-30years.
Krete Sustain Systems offer a 15 year warranty for this system.
Roof Repair
There are thousands of old Bitumen and Mastic Asphalt Roofs which after a period of 15-20years deteriorate badly and suffer from areas of ponded water, leaking box gutters and leakage problems arise all over the roof. RoofKrete Liquid Alocit Coating is an extremely hard wearing coating which prolongs the life of the roof up to 30 years with the minimum of cost.
Chemical Resistance
RoofKrete Alocit is resistant to water, sea water, oils, petroleum, aviation fuel, some solvents, alkalis and most acids.
Outstanding Adhesion
RoofKrete Alocit has the most amazing adhesive properties and can even be applied underwater and in wet area applications. In roofing applications this is vitally important, especially in the UK where rain fall makes it impossible to lay any conventional roof waterproofing. Where an old roof has ponded water the RoofKrete Liquid Alocit Coating can be applied directly to the ponded area and it bonds even under the water surface. The RoofKrete Liquid Coating can also be applied even in heavy snow down to 0°C/32°F.
Product Description
RoofKrete Alocit is a solvent free, two component epoxy resin system, which is mixed on site in a bucket and can be applied by the application of roller, trowel, brush or by spray. RoofKrete Alocit has no heavy metals and zero VOCs.
ROOFKRETE LIQUID ALOCIT FLOORINGALOCI T & ENVIROPEEL
RoofKrete Alocit coatings are particularly suited to flooring applications. With high surface tolerance, ease of application and extreme durability they offer a perfect solution - particularly on damp, oily or other types of contaminated concrete. The concrete flooring in this factory unit had become unsightly, with patches of ingrained dirt and oil as well as cracking and pitting. The degree of contamination meant that the new coating would have to adhere to a surface with areas that retained considerable quantities of oil despite thorough cleaning.
The RoofKrete Alocit project team used three products, RoofKrete Alocit 28.96 filler for the cracks and pitting, 28.95 primer and 28.15 grey for the finishing coat. Although not used here, quartz can be added to RoofKrete Alocit coatings for slip or wear resistance. The floor was cleaned using a high-pressure water jet with surface water removed by vacuum machines. This was followed by crack filling with 28.96 and a stripe coat of 28.95 around all the edges. The entire floor was then primed, producing a perfect surface for the application of the finishing coat. The materials were applied using a roller, with wet film thickness testing at all stages to ensure an even coating. The primer coat was 150 microns and the top coat 300 microns, giving a hard wearing and attractive finish to the factory floor.
