RoofKrete Liquid Waterproofing

RoofKrete Liquid Waterproofing                                     Number 1 in Liquid Waterproofing Technology

Liquid Polyurethane Waterproofing  is a cold applied application  which forms an elastomeric, seamless membrane, the ideal solution for virtually any substrate on both flat and pitched roofs, including where an overlay is required and where there is restrictive clearances and multiple and odd shaped projections. It is of course a zero flame application and has an economical installed cost with Guarantees from 15 years to 25 years. The System is seamless and can be used for asbestos roof encapsulation, flat roofs and balconies and even aquatic waterproofing.

The range includes the latest technology in single (1K) and two component (2K) polyurethane liquid rubber for the widest range of building applications.

RoofKrete liquid Roofing and Waterproofing is a self levelling; cold applied liquid Waterproofing which is both BBA Approved and ETA Approved (European Technical Approval).

The System is equally suited to roof refurbishment and new build construction.

The System is installed by a National Network of Approved Contractors.

Product Range

RoofKrete Liquid Waterproofing is a single (1K) system which after polymerisation forms an elastomeric PU Rubber resisting UV rays and capable of handling severe building movements and deformations.

RoofKrete Spray Applied Waterproofing has two options - a (2K) Polyurethane resin, which can only be applied by a spray machine. This Polyurethane resin can cure in seconds to form a robust waterproofing which has a capacity to bridge over fissures. The second option is a (2K) Polyurea resin which again is applied by a spray machine, giving a robust waterproofing which has a capacity to bridge over fissures.

RoofKrete Aqua Waterproofing is a single (1k) system based on Polyurethane, certified according to EEC Directive 98/83/CE and which can be in direct contact with drinking water for human consumption.

Application Methods

1. Roller Applied Liquid Waterproofing (1K): Can be applied to a wide range of new and existing substrates, where alternate more traditional methods such as RoofKrete Original Polymer Cement / Mesh Reinforcement System would be used. Roof areas exhibiting difficult geometry and multiple surface penetrations can benefit from the adaptable and flexible roller applied method.

2. High Performance Spray Applied Polyurea and Polyurethane Membrane (2K):  These systems cure in seconds to form robust seamless PU Coatings with excellent mechanical and chemical and waterproofing properties.

Advantages

  • Speed of installation - spray systems cure in seconds

                                        - roller applied systems cure in 2 hours

  • Stucturally Sound Roofs can be overlaid without stripping the existing waterproofing
  • Seamless
  • Excellent adhesion to a wide range of substrates
  • Very robust and durable
  • Vapour Permeable
  • UV Resistant

Applications

Roof Coatings - Flat and Pitch Roofs

RoofKrete Liquid Waterproofing is designed to provide a fully reinforced waterproof membrane which can bridge over any substrate curing to form a smooth membrane with life expectancy of up to 30 years. A Range of Warranties are offered including 10 years, 15 years, 20 years and 25 years.

The System comprises a Base coat (1kg per sq. m), with Reinforced fabric (which provides increased protection from structural movement across roof decks) and a Top coat (1kg per sq. m) is then applied over the saturated reinforced Base coat. No additional UV Top coat is required which is a major innovation over competitors systems.  No Accelerators are required to speed up the cure, again a major advantage over all the competitors. The whole system is rain proof in a few hours and cures very quickly making it ideal for UK weather conditions.d

Inverted Roof

The deck of the roof may have to be primed (see range of primers) and then the Base coat (1kg per sq.m) with the reinforced fabric  is saturated in the Base coat and a Top coat (1kg per sq. m) is applied and cured. A final Geo Max Protection Membrane is laid on top and the sand / mortar / tile / paving slab finish is put on top.

Green Roof

The deck of the roof would be primed (see list of primers) and the Base coat (1kg per sq. m) with a reinforced fabric embedded into the Base coat, then the Top coat is applied and cured.

A Geo Max Reinforcement Layer is then laid and the Green Roof System can be laid directly on top.

Balconies and Walkways

The Deck would be primed (see list of primers) and the Base coat (1kg per sq. m) would be applied , followed by the reinforced fabric which is saturated into the Base coat and the Top coat is then applied and allowed to cure. To ensure a very good foot traffic resistance RoofKrete Aliphatic Transparent Resin is applied (0.4kg per sq. m) in two coats and ADDISET Granules are sprinkled all over the clear coating while still wet , allowed to dry, then brushed  to provide a hard wearing colour full walking / balcony finish.

Asbestos Encapsulation

Asbestos roofing systems have areas of extreme weakness and with age the asbestos cement roof can become brittle and be prone to cracking. Because of the hazardous nature of re-roofing we have developed a cost effective solution for asbestos encapsulation and waterproofing, through the application of RoofKrete Liquid Waterproofing which does not disturb any asbestos particles.

Rooflight Coatings

RoofKrete Transparent Liquid Waterproofing has been developed to coat existing Rooflights, covering over any cracks without reducing the light transmission. This can extend the life of a failed Rooflight by up to 10 years.
